Opals are a symbol of hope and are said to amplify thoughts and desires. Opals are NOT considered bad luck, that erroneous belief came from a short passage in a Sir Walter Scott novel. Even then, media had power to mislead. Shortly after the novel’s release the opal market collapsed and did not recover for 50 years! Opal is Greek for “seeing changes in color” and our dragon scale bettas are selected to display the multicolor reflections of the opal.
